Qualification Overview

The IQ Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety is a qualification for individuals who work or intend to work in a position of responsibility for fire safety arrangements in both public and private sector services. The qualification supports the outcomes and recommendations contained in ‘Raising the Bar’ – Improving Competence, Building a Safer Future – prepared by the Industry Response Steering Group on Competence for Building a Safer Future. A key output measure of Dame Hackitt’s Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety.
It provides learners with formal recognition of their competence to work on all fire related matters within complex premises. All learners will complete six mandatory units, which address the protection of people, risks, construction, protection systems and a range of other safety measure in the context of complex premises and environments.
Who is this qualification for?
The qualification is suitable for those who are:
Responsible for ensuring fire safety arrangements are suitable, sufficient, and maintained e.g. Local Authority Planning and Building Control Officers, Architects, Fire Risk Assessors, Principal Designers, Principal Contractors & Regulators of fire safety enforcement
Course Structure
To achieve the IQ Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety the learner must achieve 37 credits. All 30 credits from the Mandatory Group must be completed and 7 credits (2 Units) from the Optional Group.
Due to the complex nature of the qualification this particular NVQ is underpinned by a series of 4 one week courses to satisfy the Guided Learning Hours of the qualification. These courses will be delivered on site and/or remotely depending on the complexity of the programme.
Due to the current circumstances, our courses will be adjusted to adhere to local and national lockdown regulations.
Assessment
Assessment for this qualification is by portfolio, formative assessments and practical assignments that will be internally set and marked and externally quality assured by SFJ, the awarding body. This qualification is not graded; successful learners achieve a pass. All learning outcomes in this qualification will be assessed using methods appropriate to the assessment of knowledge, understanding and competence; these can be assessed by a variety of methods including:

- Expert witness testimony
- Work products
- Records
- Reflective accounts
- Professional discussion
Age Range
This qualification is approved for learners 18+.
Learner entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, however, learners should be able to work at Level 3 or above and be proficient in the use of English Language.

£2000.00 plus VAT per person
